New Information and Communication Technology developments
can assist the process of changing society and the world of work
for people everywhere in a way that favours human dignity.
To apply these technologies in isolated or decentralized
locations, advanced technology needs to become 'light' (that is
portable) and this can be achieved by miniaturization e.g. through
the application of emerging micro- and nanotechnologies.
This field of scientific, engineering and technological
research and development is crucial both for the evolution of
mankind and the strengthening of modern democratic processes.
InGentibus will encourage research and development in micro- and
nano-technology, and in many other new and emerging areas of science
as well as the exploitation of their results, in the specific
fields of:
-Education and Culture
-Environment
-Health Care
-Socio-economics
InGentibus will leave it to governments and public
institutions to concentrate on areas such as energy, defence,
and justice which are more appropriate for them and, similarly,
leave it to industry to concentrate on areas which are primarily
related to the creation of wealth and profit.
Activities
InGentibus carries out the following activities:
- Analysis, selection and funding of project proposals
- Providing assistance in the development of feasibility
studies and funding proposals
- Promotion of partnerships/cooperation of various
kinds
- Promotion of cultural and professional education
initiatives
The principal fields in which InGentibus operates
are:
We are convinced that the field of micro- and nanotechnologies
is 'crucial' both for the evolution of mankind and the strengthening
of modern democratic processes. We foresee research and development,
as well as the exploitation of its results (nano-robotics, nano-optoelectronics,
nano-biotechnology, bio-nanosensors, bio-nanomaterials, etc) in
the above mentioned specific fields.
